Description
The “Eupener Waldrestaurant”, formerly known as the “Waldhotel”, has been a popular meeting place for over 90 years for those who enjoy sweet treats with coffee or hearty regional specialties with a suitable beer or wine. Here, on the edge of the forest in the “Schönefeld” district of Eupen, many families have celebrated weddings, baptisms, communions, and other special occasions. The cozy atmosphere also invites guests to enjoy a meal with friends and family.
In 1905, the building became the property of the city of Eupen. For generations, the Waldhotel was a beloved stop for excursionists and hikers, also appreciated for its afternoon dances in earlier times. A fire in 1988 brought an end to this era. Three years later, an entrepreneur from Geilenkirchen acquired the idyllic property and revitalized it with new operators.
In 2023, the restaurant was tastefully and modernly renovated by the current owner. With an open professional kitchen and bar area, it is now a well-known destination for gourmet enthusiasts on both sides of the border. The property spans approximately 10,000 m² and offers numerous possibilities.
